وعن آخر تطورات أزمة النادي السكندري مع حسام عاشور، علق: “في الشق القانوني حاليًا في اتحاد الكرة، وخلال الفترة الحالية حاول البعض الصلح بين النادي واللاعب، ولكن هناك اختلاف في وجهات النظر، ولو هناك أي بادرة أمل لحل الأزمة لن نمانع”.

وكان حسام عاشور لاعب الأهلي السابق، قد اشتكى نادي الاتحاد في اتحاد الكرة، بسبب عدم الحصول على مستحقاته المتأخرة، الأمر الذي أغضب محمد مصيلحي رئيس النادي السكندري، وأعلن انتهاء علاقة اللاعب بالفريق.

وعن التعاقد مع رزاق سيسيه، قال: “لا نعرف موقفه القانوني بعد رحيله عن الزمالك، يُقال إنه قام بالتوقيع للقلعة البيضاء ولا يمكن أن نقر بصحة التعاقد معه، لو أصبح لاعبًا حرًا بالتأكيد سيكون في حساباتنا أو حسابات أي ناد، ونحن أول ناد سنكون مرحبين به”.

وأردف: “نشكر جمهور الاتحاد على دعمه في كل مباراة وتشجيع الفريق من أول دقيقة للنهاية، وهذا ما نراهن عليه دوما بالنادي، تواجدهم في مباراة أمس كان رائعا وحاسم في الفوز على البنك الأهلي بهذه النتيجة الكبيرة”.

وأضاف: “نود شكر محمد عمر على موافقته على تولي المهمة فورًا بمجرد الحديث معه في هذه الفترة الصعبة، هو قيمة وقامة ومتواجد في الفريق للفترة الحالية، ومعنا الموسم المُقبل سواء في الجهاز الفني أو لجنة الكرة كمستشار فني”.

Former Granada manager Diego Martinez is reportedly very keen on being the man to eventually succeed Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds United.

The Lowdown: Bielsa contract expiring

Bielsa has done a magnificent job in charge of the Whites, but there are always question marks surrounding his future because he only signs one-year deals.

For that reason, the Argentine’s current contract expires next summer and it remains to be seen if he will extend his stay at Elland Road.

Leeds currently sit 17th in the Premier League and Bielsa isn’t in his happiest moment at the club, so there is no guarantee that he will commit his future once more.

If Bielsa does move on, it looks as though Martinez is extremely keen on replacing him, with La Razon [via Sport Witness] claiming that he has even moved to England in order to ‘perfect his language skills’.

The 41-year-old is currently without a club and sees the Premier League as his next destination, primarily Leeds, with the report even going as far as to claim he would have rejected the chance to replace Unai Emery at Villarreal in favour of a move to Yorkshire.

Victor Orta is thought to be a huge fan of Martinez, appreciating his dedication to learning the language and only heightening the chances of him coming in.

The Verdict: Ideal potential replacement?

In an ideal world, Bielsa would sign another one-year extension – the 66-year-old is still the right man for the job even if this season has been a struggle to date, with his record at the club speaking for itself.

Should he exit Elland Road next summer, however, Martinez could be an exciting replacement, having been hailed as an ‘idol’ for fans by journalist Jose Manuel Garcia, while La Liga Lowdown contributor Heath Chesters labelled the job he did in getting Granada into Europe as ‘remarkable’.

He had inspired Granada to promotion to La Liga back in 2018/19, much in the same way Bielsa did with Leeds, and they even topped Spain’s top-flight after 10 games in 2019/20, highlighting his pedigree further.

Leeds United have entered the final international break of 2021 15th in the Premier League after 11 matches played this season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have only won two of their 11 league games, but have avoided heading into the break in the bottom three.

The Lillywhite have 11 points and are three points ahead of 18th-placed Burnley, whilst they are four points behind 10th-placed Crystal Palace.

Liability

One player who has let Bielsa down with his performances this season is Welsh international winger Daniel James, who joined the club from Manchester United for a reported £30m in the summer window.

Since making the switch, he has averaged a SofaScore rating of 6.57 in the Premier League for the Lillywhites – ranking him 19th in the squad. Jack Harrison (6.48) is the only senior player below him in the list, with Crysencio Summerville, Charlie Cresswell and Cody Drameh the others making up the bottom five along with Harrison and James.

The 24-year-old summer signing has been a liability on the pitch. Whilst he puts in the hard work and tries to make things happen, his quality lets him down at the end of the day and his lack of end product will surely frustrate Marcelo Bielsa.

In 10 league outings for Leeds, James has registered zero goals and one assist, whilst he has created a measly five chances in that time.

Former Premier League forward Darren Bent once criticised the attacker’s decision-making in the final third and branded him as ‘headless’. He told Football Insider:

“The only thing about Dan James at times, for me, he’s a little bit headless.

“He’s shown great potential, when he first went to United he played really well, scored a few goals but at times he for me he’s fouled or he shoots sometimes when he should pass it, he’ll pass when he should shoot.

“He’s got great pace and I think he’d be a great addition in anyone’s squad but when we talk about someone coming in and making a real difference and adding a lot of quality to whatever they’ve already got, I’m not quite sure.”

Per SofaScore, James has also been a liability in terms of keeping the ball, with 103 losses of possession in 10 top-flight games.

Whilst his end product in scoring and creating goals has been lacking, the main concern may be how often he gifts the ball back to the opposition throughout matches. He has also lost 62% of his duels, proving himself to be a lightweight in the defensive side of the game.

This shows why James has let Bielsa down this season, as he has been poor at keeping the ball, competing in duels and delivering quality in the final third.

Paying so much for a player who has only offered running thus far does not appear to be a great piece of business, but there is plenty of time left for him to come good and, hopefully, the Argentine can get the best out of him,

Os clubes são diferentes, os estilos de jogo são diferentes, as faixas etárias são diferentes e principalmente os objetivos em campo serão diferentes neste domingo, às 16h, na Vila Belmiro. Apesar de tantas diferenças, o santista Renato e o corintiano Gabriel alimentam uma relação antiga. Mais precisamente, da época em que o camisa 5 do Timão mal sonhava em ser jogador de futebol profissional, enquanto o número 8 do Peixe dava os primeiros sinais de que teria uma carreira brilhante. Depois de muitos anos (alguns de convívio, inclusive), a dupla estará em campo no clássico.

O elo entre Renato e Gabriel teve início no fim dos anos 90. O santista, então chamado de Renatinho, despontava no Guarani, clube que defendeu entre 1996 e 2000. Ele era o dono do time: revelação da forte categoria de base e um meia armador de raro talento que não saiu precocemente do Brinco de Ouro da Princesa. Foi dali que a relação começou, como idolatria.

Gabriel vem de família bugrina. Era comum que sua mãe e seu avô, principalmente, batessem cartão nos jogos do Guarani. Renato era, então, uma referência da família. Um ídolo. Que depois do Guarani defenderia Santos, Sevilla (ESP), Botafogo e Seleção Brasileira.

Enquanto isso, Gabriel passou do futebol de salão no Sesi de Campinas à Ponte Preta, onde disputou só um campeonato, e então ao Paulínia onde fez parte da formação antes de ser contratado pelo Botafogo ainda nas categorias de base. Ele estreou profissionalmente em 2012, numa partida do Campeonato Carioca contra o Boavista. E sabe quem estava em campo? Renato, repatriado um ano antes do futebol espanhol.

-O Renato é uma pessoa excelente, sem vaidades. Vou seguir meu caminho, fazer uma carreira como a dele para, no futuro, as pessoas se lembrarem de mim.Minha mãe e meu avô torceram muito por ele no Guarani – relatou Gabriel, na época.

Gabriel e Renato conviveram no elenco profissional do Botafogo entre abril de 2012 e maio de 2014, quando o mais experiente rescindiu contrato para defender o Santos. Eles disputaram posição, jogaram juntos, classificaram a equipe para a Libertadores após 17 anos e depois desfizeram o contato, que só foi retomado nas vezes em que Gabriel enfrentou o Peixe.

Pelo Palmeiras foram cinco confrontos: duas vitórias de Gabriel, duas de Renato e mais um empate – o santista fez um dos gols do confronto, aliás. Já pelo Corinthians, Gabriel venceu os dois embates contra Renato. Como será neste domingo?
