Gareth Bale’s story at Real Madrid is quite interesting.

He was one of those players that was just a single step away from actually leaving the Spanish capital for good, but in the end he stayed and played a small part in their ongoing campaign.

The very first couple of games were rather good, actually.

Bale scored two goals and assisted further two but then the injuries returned and he has been sitting on his tally of seven games played across all competitions for a while now.

Interestingly enough, it seems that the 30-year-old star has returned to training with his national team and many of Real Madrid fans didn’t really take it that well.

Upon seeing him fit and happy for Wales, they immediately stated that he should leave the club and that he’s only at Real for the money, slamming the star for his disrespectful behaviour in the process.

وأضاف: “الفوز بدوري أبطال أوروبا سيكون أمرًا لا يصدق، إنه حلم للجميع، وآمل أن يحدث معي، وأتيت إلى هنا للفوز بالعديد من الألقاب، منح الجماهير الكثير من السعادة”.

وأشار: “عندما وقعت لريال مدريد كل شيء حدث بسرعة، في أقل من عام كنت في مدريد لتحقيق حلمي، واللعب بجانب لاعبين رائعين، وأساطير اللعبة، إنه لمن دواعي سروري أن أكون في أفضل نادٍ في العالم”.

وعن علاقته مع مواطنه كاسيميرو: “أنا وكاسي نتحدث كثيرًا، إنه يساعدني لأنه أكبر سنًا، بينما رودريجو وفينيسيوس جدد مثلي، وبالنسبة لنا هو أخ، وكلانا لعب مع ساو باولو وفي المنتخب الوطني، هذا يجعل العلاقة أقوى بيننا”.

وأشار: “التواجد في ريال مدريد يوّلد الكثير من الضغط لأنك في أفضل نادٍ في العالم، لكن هذا شيء جيد، لدينا فاران وراموس اللذان فازا بالعديد من الأشياء هنا، والمنافسة على مركز في ريال مدريد مفيدة بالنسبة لللنادي”.

اعتذر مهاجم فريق مانشستر سيتي سيرجيو أجويرو عن ركلة الجزاء التي أهدرها في مباراة اليوم أمام تشيلسي، في بطولة الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وتلاقى الفريقان في إطار منافسات الجولة الخامسة والثلاثين من البطولة، حيث خسر مانشستر سيتي بهدفين مقابل هدف.

وحصل مانشستر سيتي على ركلة جزاء قبل نهاية الشوط الأول، أهدرها أجويرو بعدما سددها بطريقة بانينكا. أجويرو يهدر ركلة جزاء أمام تشيلسي

وكتب أجويرو عبر حسابه الشخصي بموقع “تويتر”: “أريد أن أعتذر لزملائي والطاقم الفني والمشجعين بسبب إهداري ركلة الجزاء”.

وأضاف الأرجنتيني: “لقد كان قرارًا سيئًا مني، وأنا أتحمل المسؤولية كاملة”.

Since leaving Liverpool earlier in the summer for £6.4m, Simon Mignolet appears to be rebuilding his career with Belgian outfit Club Brugge.

The shot-stopper was a regular for the Reds for much of his time there, making 204 appearances across six years, and he managed to keep 66 clean sheets along the way. Now back in his homeland, he appears to be doing rather well, having not conceded in 11 of his first 20 games for his new club.

In the north of England, though, there were portions of the club’s fanbase who often lambasted him for his displays, and it was not without justification.

During his time at Liverpool, he made 18 errors that led directly to goals in the league. For context, that places him at joint-sixth on the Premier League’s official website. That makes his claims that he was unfairly treated by Liverpool rather bizarre. He told Het Belang van Limburg (via The Daily Express): “If I could really fight for my place, I might have stayed. But if I had ended up in goal if Alisson picked up injury, I would be allowed to push ten shots out of the box.”

Jurgen Klopp wanted a top-class goalkeeper, and he went and signed one in Alisson. The Brazil international cost £67m, but has since repaid the money spent on him with his impressive performances. Across one-and-a-bit campaigns, he has an average save percentage of 76.8%. Mignolet could only manage 64.7% during his time there, and he never matched the 27-year-old’s 77.8% last time out in one campaign.

The fact of the matter is, Mignolet just wasn’t good enough to be a member of a title-challenging side like Alisson is.

These comments about him being unfairly treated are nothing short of delusional. Had he proven his worth to Klopp when he had the chance prior to the former Roma man’s arrival, it may have been a different story, but his failure to impress is no-one else’s fault other than his own. As Liverpool now top the Premier League table, it is unlikely any sleep will be lost over these quotes.

But fast-forward to the present day, and Ream is an integral part of the Fulham defence, and captain of the United States.

And what was a mere £1.5m signing (according to Transfermarkt) turned out to be arguably the piece of the puzzle that helped Fulham temporarily regain their top-flight status.

He had to work his way into Jokanovic’s plans, and arguably did not manage to claim a Reading in the 2016/17 season.

Everything came together in the following campaign, as Ream’s part in Fulham’s long play-off final saw the American become the club’s Player of the Season as they secured promotion to the top tier.

His performances in that campaign had fans and journalists singing his praises:

While last season would end in despair, Ream has continued to front the fight for promotion once again, playing in all but one of Fulham’s league fixtures as they strive to bounce back immediately under Scott Parker.

Ream’s status in the squad represents a remarkable turnaround for a player who Jokanovic had not initially wanted, and considering the small fee that brought him to Craven Cottage, it is nothing short of a great success story for the 32-year-old, who remains a vital component of the team after relegation.

And by recently extending his deal at the club until 2021, Fulham will surely be hoping they can continue to profit from their wise decision to recruit the USA international over four years ago.

Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was reported by FCInterNews that West Ham are also in the race to sign Flamengo star Gabriel Barbosa.

The 5-cap Brazil international recently scored two late goals to secure the Copa Libertadores for Flamengo, taking his tally for the campaign to 31 goals in 38 games – he has also bagged ten assists.

As a result of his fine form, Flamengo are in negotiations to sign him although the aforementioned report states that the 23-year-old is interested in a return to Europe.

The report continues that Palace have set aside €23m (£19.6m) for the Brazilian goal machine, and that the south Londoners are ahead of the Hammers in the race for Gabigol’s signature due to the ‘coaching issues’ in regards to Manuel Pellegrini.

One supporter said that they’d cry if Barbosa ended up at the London Stadium instead of Selhurst Park, whereas another fan said that they’d rather sign the Copa Libertadores hero instead of Fabio Borini, who has also been linked to Palace recently.

Sheffield Wednesday finally returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon with a victory against an injury-stricken Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
