Mourinho, who moved to Turkey and took the Fenerbahce managerial role this summer, is reportedly already contemplating leaving the Super Lig. Earlier this month, the outspoken Portuguese coach slammed Turkish football and launched a now-infamous 'smells bad' rant for which he was handed a hefty fine and a ban.

The former Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid manager's comment has ticked off Uruguay international and Galatasaray captain Fernando Muslera, who has advised Mourinho to leave the country if he dislikes their football. Mourinho has been linked with a move back to the Premier League with Newcastle United and Everton reportedly interested in securing his services. The 61-year-old has leaned into the speculation, suggesting he'd be open to managing a team in the bottom half of the English top-flight.
WHAT FERNANDO MUSLERA SAID
Speaking to , the 38-year-old goalkeeper said: "The insults towards Turkish football and the fact that he is attacking some referees are things that bother me. This is the first time in 14 years that I feel obliged to make such a speech. I won 17 trophies in 14 years. If we consider my contribution, my constant aim is to advance Turkish football.
"If Mourinho, who came here four months ago, criticises Turkish football and doesn't like it, he can leave. Although nobody says anything, I think now someone can say something to him. We need to pay a little more attention to those who move Turkish football forward."

Chelsea have signed a lot of players over the last three years but head coach Enzo Maresca still wants to add to his talented squad as he looks to restore the club's status as one of Europe's best. suggests a central defender is a priority for the former Leicester boss, and in Portugal reports Benfica's Araujo is on their shortlist. The 22-year-old has impressed in the 36 games he has played for the Portuguese club and as a result is drawing interest from the likes of the Blues.

Scoring goals has not been a problem for the Blues this season – only three teams have netted more than them. But having conceded 13 times in 11 games, it is no surprise to see rumours of signing a centre-back doing the rounds. The likes of Tosin Adarabioyo arrived to replace Thiago Silva in the summer but he has yet to provide any real competition to Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana. Araujo's versatility and high ceiling would make him a shrewd signing if Chelsea are willing to pay Benfica's asking price.

Reports believe Benfica value Araujo very highly and a deal would not be easy to pull off. He is contracted at the club until 2028 and the more he impresses, the more likely it is that Chelsea would have to fork out a fee similar to what they paid for Enzo Fernandez.
With one month left in the transfer window this summer, Newcastle United still need to address several issues as Eddie Howe seeks to find a route back into European competition.
Namely, a new centre-forward is coveted at St. James' Park, with Alexander Isak thriving as one of Europe's most exciting forwards but needing competition with Callum Wilson, 32, who suffered an injury-plagued 2023/24 campaign, garnering interest this summer.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been on the Magpies' radar, but the Everton star has a blemished record on the fitness front too. A shrewder route could be taken.
Newcastle eyeing new forward
According to a report from Corriere dello Sport earlier this week – via Sport Witness – Newcastle are in the mix to sign Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia, who is craving a transfer to the Premier League.
Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia
Brentford, Everton and West Ham United are also known admirers of the Senegal international, but no suitor has yet to meet the Serie A side's price tag of €20m (£17m).
What Boulaye Dia would bring to Newcastle
Dia is one of the crispest and most composed centre-forwards in the business, with his average pass completion rate of 83.6% over the past year putting him among the top 1% of positional peers across Europe's top five leagues for the metric, as per FBref.
He didn't however, get to show off the full scale of his goalscoring ability, with injuries limiting him to just 12 starting Serie A appearances and just four goals in 2023/24.
In the previous campaign, however, the 27-year-old proved to be one of the finest marksmen in Italian football, scoring 16 goals across 27 outings and missing just five big chances, as per Sofascore.

This is the kind of striking calibre that Newcastle would hope to inculcate into Howe's ranks, and given that he averaged 1.1 key passes and dribbles per fixture too, a dynamic option could be added to reinforce and broaden the Toon attack.
It's the kind of transfer that could cause PIF to forget about Calvert-Lewin, who, at present, is still of strong interest to the Tyneside club despite previously pulling out of negotiations this summer following concerns around Everton's £40m demands.
Calvert-Lewin has also been dubbed a "monster" by talent scout Jacek Kulig, with similarly athletically robust qualities, albeit applied in a different way.
The Toffees' 6 foot 2 talisman is strong and commanding in the air but he is also frequently afflicted by injury – having now gone three campaigns without reaching ten goals in a Premier League term.
Dia, albeit spending much of last season wrestling with fitness problems, has proved himself a clinical presence with a high-level technical ability, and given that he's available for a portion of Everton's exorbitant demands, he must be signed.

Borthwick signed a long-term deal with the club in September after four seasons at Surrey
ESPNcricinfo staff08-Mar-2021Scott Borthwick will captain Durham in the County Championship this summer, having returned to the club on a long-term deal after four seasons at Surrey.Borthwick will be Durham’s third captain in as many seasons. Cameron Bancroft led the side in the first half of 2019 before he was included in Australia’s Ashes squad. Ned Eckersley then took over the role, and continued through the Bob Willis Trophy campaign in 2020.While his captaincy experience is limited to a couple of games for Surrey’s second XI, Borthwick will be a senior player in Durham’s squad, and Marcus North, the club’s director of cricket, said that he hoped he could demonstrate that within the role.”There is no doubt Scott brings a huge amount of playing experience to the table,” North said. “This is a great opportunity for Scott to draw upon these and transfer those experiences into a formal leadership role.”Borthwick said that captaining his boyhood club had been a long-term ambition of his.”Just coming back to play for Durham again has been an amazing experience for me, so to be asked to captain the team is a huge honour,” he said. “Leading out the Durham team has been something I’ve dreamt about since I was a kid in the academy so it’s a really special thing for me.”The coaches and management team have been really welcoming since I re-joined the club and I’m looking forward to working closely with them. We’ve got an exciting group of players with lots experience and I look forward to leading the team to success.”The club are yet to name a captain for either white-ball format. Nathan Rimmington led the T20 Blast side in 2020 but has since left the club, while Stuart Poynter and Paul Coughlin have both captained in recent T20 seasons.

Leading members of the cast and crew have been quick to air their excitement at news of Ted Lasso and Co coming back, with the likes of Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift said to have seen options taken up on their respective contracts.
WHAT PHIL DUNSTER SAID
Phil Dunster, who plays enigmatic striker Jamie Tartt, is yet to discover whether he will be involved in Season 4. He has, however, informed fans that more Lasso escapades are on the way, telling the podcast: âItâs been green-lit to write another series. Itâs been announced that series 4 is going to be a thing. Thereâs been a commission to write the fourth series, whether that ends up being a show, I don't know. I don't know any of that stuff. I don't know if I'll be in it. There are certain members of the cast who have been re-upped, as it were. But yeah, I mean it's pretty good news I think in that it looks like it will happen. Season 4 is going be a thing. So Iâm not one of those people whoâs been re-upped. But also I say that with total love and acceptance that shows move on and things happen. I think that there was some belief at this time that it's because I had booked something else, that was [the reason] that I wasn't doing it. That wasn't the case.
âI would always pick up that phone and I would always say âHow high?â if Jason said âjumpâ. But yeah, so I don't know. Who knows? I think that there is a world where something like that happens. I don't know which direction they're taking the show in, but there's lots of favourites of the characters who will still be in it. âWe moveâ, as the kids say these days.â
The BCCI will also appoint bubble integrity managers to keep a close eye on potential breaches
Nagraj Gollapudi21-Mar-2021As the BCCI gets ready to host a second successive edition of the IPL during the Covid-19 pandemic, the board has informed all teams that they will not be vaccinated during the tournament. Anyone testing positive for the virus will need to isolate for a minimum of 10 days and clear the testing process before reintegrating into the bio-secure environment, which will be tightly monitored by ‘bubble integrity managers’ whose sole job will be to report any breach. The 14th edition of the IPL, which will be played at six venues in India behind closed doors to begin with, is scheduled between April 9 and May 30.Related

IPL 2021 to kick off on April 9; will be played across six Indian cities
These guidelines have been listed in the standard operating procedures’ document titled ‘Health & Safety Protocols’ distributed by the IPL to all the stakeholders including the eight teams on Saturday. The bio-secure environment will comprise 12 bubbles, including eight dedicated to the teams, two for the match officials and the match management team, and two for the broadcasting crew.Seven-day mandatory quarantine to enter the bubble As per the guidelines, anyone operating out of the bubble will need to first undergo a compulsory week-long quarantine inside the hotel room. There will be in-room testing done on days two, five and seven, and only once all three results are returned negative can the person come out of the quarantine. Unless they clear the testing process, team members are not allowed to interact in person.Post-quarantine, every individual within the bubble “will be tested twice a week during the second week and thereafter every fifth day for the entire duration of IPL 2021 season,” the guidelines stated. No quarantine for players from India-England series As per the protocol, players moving between the bubbles from the ongoing India-England series directly to the IPL will not need to undergo the week-long quarantine as well as the three initial tests, subject to them taking a charter flight or a direct team bus to the respective team hotels.”Players coming directly from the bubble created for the India vs England series, may be permitted to join the franchise squad without serving the mandatory quarantine period, provided they satisfy the following criteria: After conclusion of the India vs England series, the players are moved directly to the franchise team hotel either in the team bus or on a chartered flight,” the IPL said in the document.”If the travel arrangements are to the satisfaction of the BCCI Chief Medical Officer, then such players will directly enter the franchise team bubble without the need to serve a quarantine period or undergo an RT-PCR test.”The same will be applicable to the overseas players coming from bilateral series’ bubbles. In cases where the players coming out of bubbles do not conform to the IPL travelling norms, they will need to undergo the week-long quarantine and clear the three tests. In the case of members joining “at a later date” after their teams have entered their respective bubbles, they “will have to serve their mandatory quarantine period” but “outside the bubble zone on a different floor/wing.”The IPL’s bio-secure environment will include 12 bubblesâ˘BCCITen-day isolation for testing positive As per the medical protocol, anyone testing positive within the bubble would need to be isolated for a minimum of 10 days at a pre-designated facility inside the bubble.”During the 10-days isolation, the individual will be tested on day nine and day 10. Two consecutive negative RT-PCR test results taken 24 hours apart, full resolution of symptoms, no fresh symptoms for more than 24 hours and no use of medications for more than 24 hours are mandatory for re-entry into the bio-secure environment. To account for any false positive tests due to historical infections, serology tests and repeat RT-PCR tests may be conducted.”In case the individual is found to be asymptomatic, “or has mild symptoms”, the person would need to spend a minimum of 10 days in a “designated area outside” the bubble. Once the person clears the two tests on days nine and ten, he can re-enter the bubble. According to the guidelines, all those who have tested positive or are asymptomatic have to undergo a cardiac screening before resuming training. No vaccination The IPL has told the franchises that they will not be vaccinating team members because the Indian government has not yet given any special dispensation to athletes.”In India, the first group to get vaccinated against COVID-19 included healthcare and frontline workers. The second group to receive COVID-19 vaccine will be persons over 60 years of age and persons between 45 and 59 years with comorbid conditions. The Government of India is yet to announce the schedule for vaccination of other groups of people including elite athletes.”The IPL has also clarified that even if a person has got a vaccine before entering the bubble, the individual would still need to adhere to the quarantine and testing procedures laid out for the tournament. The bubble eye is watching you Last year, Suresh Raina made a controversial exit from the Chennai Super Kings bubble in Dubai just before the start of the 2020 edition, which was held in the UAE. Although both the player and the Super Kings said it was owing to “personal reasons”, unconfirmed reports suggested Raina had breached the bubble rules.Taking that episode as a learning, the IPL has decided to appoint “up to four security staff” as the “designated bubble integrity managers”. These managers would be part of each franchise bubble and travel with the team for the entire tournament. Their solitary job would be to “report any bio-secure environment protocol breaches” to the BCCI’s chief medical officer.
Tottenham Hotspur wrapped up their pre-season with a 3-2 defeat to Harry Kane and Bayern Munich in their last match before the Premier League campaign on Saturday.
Dejan Kulusevski found the back of the net twice, including a goal in the first minute of the match, but strikes from Thomas Muller, Dayot Upamecano, and Serge Gnabry secured the friendly win for the Bavarian outfit.
Ange Postecoglou will now have his full focus on the opening game against Leicester City, newly promoted out of the Championship, at the King Power stadium.
The Lilywhites missed out on Champions League football for this season, finishing below Aston Villa in the table, and a top-four finish may be in the Australian boss' sights this term.
Spurs have dipped into the market in an attempt to bolster their squad, with Lucas Bergvall, in a deal that was agreed earlier this year, Archie Gray, and Dominic Solanke all joining this summer.
The club's latest signing was Solanke on a permanent deal from Bournemouth, which has been reported to be worth £65m, to improve the team's attack.
Spurs eyeing new centre-forward
Despite that addition to the squad, Tottenham are reportedly in the market to add another centre-forward to the group to compete with Solanke.
According to Football Insider, Spurs have their eye on a possible swoop to sign Jonathan David from Ligue 1 side Lille before the end of the window.
Lille striker Jonathan David.
The report claims that Postecoglou is lining up a potential move for the Canada international as there is continued uncertainty over Richarlison's future at the club.
It adds that that Brazil international 'could' leave before the deadline passes but does not mention if there are any teams currently pursuing his services, though it does say that there are Saudi Pro League clubs monitoring his situation.
Football Insider also reveals that a number of Premier League teams are eyeing up David this summer, which means that the Lilywhites could face significant competition for his signature.
The report states that the Canadian marksman is now into the final 12 months of his contract with the French side and that has forced them to lower their value of him to £25m, which is why he has emerged as an attractive target for Spurs and other sides in the English top-flight.
If Tottenham do win the race to secure his services before the end of the summer then Postecoglou could have two excellent striker options, with him and Solanke.
What Dominic Solanke could bring to Tottenham
A £65m transfer fee will bring a degree of expectation with it for the English attacker, who has already proven himself to be a capable scorer at Premier League level.
Solanke has played in England for the majority of his career, bar a loan spell with Vitesse in his younger days, and does not have to adjust to the league or the country, as a signing – like David – coming in from abroad would have to do.
This means that Postecoglou and supporters may feel like he should have to hit the ground running this season, due to his experience in the league and his hefty price tag.
The one-time England international is coming off the back of his best season in the Premier League for the Cherries, having never managed more than six top-flight goals prior to the 2023/24 campaign.
Solanke plundered 19 goals in 38 appearances in the division last term and no Spurs player managed more than Heung-min Son's tally of 17 in the league.
This suggests that the £65m signing from Bournemouth could come in to provide a much-needed boost in the final third for Postecoglou, if he can continue his impressive form in a Tottenham shirt.

As you can see in the table above, Solanke consistently got himself into fantastic goalscoring positions, as evidenced by his 19.63 Expected Goals tally.
He did slightly underperform based on the quality of chances that came his way but that should not be a massive issue, given how slight the underperformance is, if he can continue to get into positions for those opportunities to fall his way.
Solanke could, therefore, be a fantastic attacking option for Spurs and the club could land another excellent striker to compete with him by signing David.
Why Spurs should sign Jonathan David
The 24-year-old star, who was hailed as "mind-blowing" for his country by talent scout Jacek Kulig, has been a prolific forward in France in recent years and could come in as an outstanding replacement for Richarlison.
If the Brazilian does move on, to the Pro League or elsewhere, then Spurs could improve their team by swooping to sign David in reaction to that.
The Lille sensation, who has scored 28 goals in 54 caps for Canada, has racked up 121 goals in 267 appearances in his club career to date, which speaks to his knack for scoring goals on a regular basis.

As you can see in the table above, David outperformed Richarlison as both a scorer and a creator of goals during the 2023/24 campaign, with eight more goals and twice as many 'big chances' created in their respective leagues.
The £25m-rated marksman had also fired in an outstanding 24 goals in 37 outings in Ligue 1 in the previous season, which means that he has scored 43 goals in the last two league campaigns combined.
Lille's Jonathan David
These statistics show that David has the ability to find the back of the net at an impressive rate at the top level, albeit he is unproven in the Premier League.
This means that Spurs could end up with two strikers in their squad – Solanke and David – who both scored 19 goals in a major European league last term, which could provide Postecoglou with all the firepower he needs to fight for a top four finish, and possibly even more.

The talented youngster has a bright future ahead of him.
West Ham United lost their opening fixture of the 2024/25 Premier League season, with Julen Lopetegui leaving several new signings on the bench and falling to Aston Villa in the capital.
It had to be him. Jhon Duran scored off the bench for the travellers to hammer the hosts down a peg, with Lucas Paqueta's penalty previously restoring parity before the break following debutant Amadou Onana's early header.
Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran
Lopetegui has much to chew on after his first competitive assessment and now must consider integrating more of the new arrivals to the starting line-up, with Michail Antonio among those likely to lose their place.
Michail Antonio fails to inspire
Antonio is a veteran and a stalwart. No West Ham player, past and present, has scored more for the Irons in the Premier League, but aged 34, his defects were clear against slick and stylish Villa.
Isolated up top, Antonio failed to hit the target and failed to win a duel, with his focal role at the front of the formation failing, simply, to inspire.
Given that the powerful Niclas Fullkrug has arrived from Borussia Dortmund for £27m and last term's Championship MVP, Crysencio Summerville, is also added to the frontline, Antonio might find himself rueing to grasp the occasion and prove to his new boss that he is the man for the job at No. 9.
West Ham players after Aston Villa defeat
Antonio's physicality and all-round confidence mean that he will play an important role throughout the campaign, even if he starts intermittently.
The same can't be said for Vladimir Coufal, however, who must be sweating for his place after a display against the Villans that left plenty to be desired.
Why West Ham must axe Vladimir Coufal
Disgruntlement hung across the London Stadium after some exciting defensive additions were kept on the bench for West Ham's 2024/25 curtain-raiser.
Coufal, who has collected a growing pile of detractors since the start of the year, did little to convince Lopetegui of his place in the starting line-up against Aston Villa, namely undone by poor positioning that opened up inroads for the visitors.
West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui
The Evening Standard's Dom Smith echoed this sentiment, branding the £35k-per-week defender with a 4/10 match rating and writing: 'Caught out of position by coming too centrally, allowing Lucas Digne and John McGinn to exploit the space down the left. And Duran got through late on, too, thanks to Coufal’s poor positioning.'
As per Sofascore, the experienced Czech lost eight of his nine contested duels and failed to complete a tackle while also committing four fouls.

West Ham's pre-season bore an undercurrent of defensive fragility but Lopetegui has been backed by the club, with technical director Tim Steidten signing Max Kilman at the start of the window and recently closing deals for dynamic centre-half Jean-Clair Todibo and former Manchester United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka, who started from the bench on Saturday evening, will hope to nail down a regular starting spot at right-back, displacing Coufal after years of the 31-year-old's solid service.
West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal.
He was linked with a move away from east London before the summer transfer window opened for business, and despite losing Ben Johnson, the Hammers might be tempted to identify an understudy for their shiny new signing and axe Coufal from the squad.
Mounting a convincing challenge for European qualification is paramount for West Ham. Though there is plenty of work to do after an opening-day defeat against Aston Villa, Lopetegui has the tools to fashion success – he might need one or two more tweaks.

Vishwa Fernando explains how the hosts’ ensured the visitors could score only at 2.66 over the last 103 overs
ESPNcricinfo staff22-Apr-2021Upon realising that the Pallekele surface was offering little to the quicks and even less to spinners in the early part of this Test, Sri Lanka changed their bowling strategy. Where they had begun the Test with hopes of bundling Bangladesh out cheaply with their trio of seam bowlers, they decided that instead of chasing wickets, they would look to dry up the runs. This was what left-arm seamer Vishwa Fernando revealed after play on day two, and the numbers do bear this out. Where Sri Lanka had conceded runs at 3.93 an over in the first session of the match, they had substantially tightened up their bowling by the second day. Since tea on day one, Sri Lanka’s economy rate has been 2.66, over the course of 103 overs.Related

Shanto: 'I believed in myself to score big runs'
“We didn’t get as much support from the wicket as we thought, and we felt it was dry underneath and it’s now a batting wicket,” Fernando, who picked up two wickets on the first day, said. “After the first session we knew there wasn’t much for the quicks or the spinners. We tried to get wickets yesterday, and because we tried to get wickets, we leaked a few runs. Tamim Iqbal was able to score quickly against us.”Today, the plan was to cut down the runs and fence them in. We tried to bowl patiently and get the wickets that way. I think we did that.”Fernando and his seam-bowling colleagues are now working under the team’s new bowling coach: Chaminda Vaas. Vaas had identified Fernando as a promising bowler several years ago, and had worked closely with him on a previous stint with the national team too.”That Vaas came in to the set-up is a big source of strength for us, because of the experience he has and the way he shares it,” Fernando said. “He talks us through situations. His tactics and bowling style are similar to mine. I personally have a lot of things to learn from him.”Since December 2020, Fernando has also played five of the seven Tests Sri Lanka have been involved in – playing both matches in South Africa and West Indies, before this one. Sri Lanka quicks rarely get this much playing time at a stretch, and Fernando spoke of the good this consistency in selection has done for him: “As a player, being able to play a lot of matches in a short period, you get a bit of experience, and once that happens our confidence improves. I got to play matches consistently in recent months, so my confidence level is in a good place. It becomes easier to perform.”
